Pledges
Our pledges and grading criteria is formed around rigorous research into issues that affect the community.
Islamophobia:
Commit to proactively combating structural, institutional, and public Islamophobia, with the adoption of the APPG on British Muslims’ definition of Islamophobia being the first step.
Education:
Commit to enhancing the protection of religion as a protected characteristic and fostering socially healthy school environments; support the provision of religiously and culturally sensitive counselling and support; tackling identity-based bullying; and proactive and meaningful parental consultation, particularly concerning issues such as the teaching of RSE.
Security & Counter-Terror:
Commit to rejecting the recommendations of the Shawcross Review of PREVENT and instead implementing the recommendations of the People’s Review of PREVENT and engaging with the eventual recommendations of the Independent Commission on UK Counter-Terrorism Law, Policy, and Practise.
Leicester Riots Review:
To call for the removal of Lord Ian Austin as the independent review into the Leicester riots. This is because of his explicit racist and Islamophobic comments.
Foreign Affairs:
Publicly demand Israel comply with ICJ ruling and international law. To demand Israel end the occupation of Palestine (Gaza and West Bank) and unilaterally accept the State of Palestine.
Health
& Social Care:
Leicestershire hospitals due to underfunding are placed in “special measures”. Call for adequate funding for hospitals and health care. Promote investment in preventative initiatives, extra qualified staff and increase health service points.


Shockat Adam
