“Labour should not have voted to recognise Palestine”

• In 2014, Liz Kendall did not back a motion to recognise Palestine, despite pressure from her constituents. She expressed opposition to boycotting, divesting from, and sanctioning Israel.

Liz Kendall, representing Leicester West since 2010, currently serves as the Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions in the Labour Party.

Kendall’s approach to international issues like the Israeli-Palestinian have resulted in criticism from her constituents, she abstained from votes in support of the recognition of a state of Palestine and abstained from the recent vote in support of a ceasefire.

Some of her constituents are also disputed over her stance on internal Labour Party matters and her comments in Parliament, which have sparked discussions about respect for key workers in different sectors.
